Our story

We’ve been a part of The City of Ipswich since the mid-1960’s. In 1998, under the faithful leadership of Ps Mark Edwards, we purchased a significant parcel of land and built a new facility along Ripley Road, just across the Cunningham Highway.

Now, more than 20 years on, we go by the name Cityhope Church and we’re situated on the doorstep of one of Australia’s largest growth corridors, the Ripley valley. With over 120,000 people forecast to move in by 2030, we’re excited to introduce as many as we can to Jesus.

We're a community that's passionate about Jesus and excited to meet you.

Ps Mark Edwards

Ps Mark has lead Cityhope Church with integrity and passion for over 28 years. Husband to Gail and a father of four, he regularly speaks at conferences and churches across Australia and overseas, and is widely respected as a long-serving minister and former lawyer.

Everything we do is centred around one purpose: to draw people into an ever-increasing, personal relationship with Jesus.

Who we are

It’s all about Jesus

We believe the foundation of everything in life is Jesus and His love for us, so we will always present you with an opportunity to enter into a personal relationship with Him.

We’re generous by default

We’re committed to having a posture of exceptional generosity in everything we do, and will actively seek opportunities to be generous in our local community and abroad.

You are truly valued

No matter who you are or what you do, we believe you have value and we will always work to create an environment where you feel honoured for being precisely who you are.

We’re a people with purpose

We will always seek to serve the communities in which we’re located for no other reason than to show them the unconditional love of Jesus. This means we will actively engage with local organisations, participate in and host community events, and facilitate and donate to community initiatives.

This is a life worth living

We believe there is nothing greater, nor more rewarding, than living a life for God. As such, we believe we have a responsibility to equip the next generation and ensure they have opportunities to lead and be coached, mentored, and resourced to develop the gifts and talents God has given them.
