We are Cityhope

Our story

We’ve been a part of The City of Ipswich since the mid-1960’s. In 1998, under the faithful leadership of Ps Mark Edwards, we purchased a significant parcel of land and built a new facility along Ripley Road, just across the Cunningham Highway.

Now, more than 20 years on, we go by the name Cityhope Church and we’re situated on the doorstep of one of Australia’s largest growth corridors, the Ripley valley. With over 120,000 people forecast to move in by 2030, we’re excited to introduce as many as we can to Jesus.

We're a community that's passionate about Jesus and excited to meet you.

Everything we do is centred around one purpose: to draw people into an ever-increasing, personal relationship with Jesus.

Who we are

Evangelism
It’s all about Jesus

We believe the foundation of everything in life is Jesus and His love for us. Evangelism is an integral part of the thinking, decisions and actions taken across all levels of our Church. Cityhope will use many means to see people drawn into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Generosity
We’re generous by default

We’re committed to having a posture of exceptional generosity in everything we do, and will actively seek opportunities to be generous in our local community and abroad. According to the principles of the Bible and more specifically the teaching of the apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 8 & 9.

Honour
You are truly valued

Cityhope Church will always create an environment where people are honoured for who they are and what they do. We seek opportunities to honour people within the ‘household of faith’ and also people and organizations within the community and beyond.

Community
We’re a people with purpose

Cityhope Church engages in the community in which it is located. Our means of engagement include being part of various organizations in the city, participating and instigating community events and donating to community causes. Through this engagement Cityhope Church will seek to ‘wash the feet’ of its community for no other reason than to love and serve it unconditionally.

Next Generation
This is a life worth living

We believe there is nothing greater, nor more rewarding, than living a life for God. As such, we believe we have a responsibility to equip the next generation and ensure they have opportunities to lead and be coached, mentored, and resourced to develop the gifts and talents God has given them.
